Join our team as an Assistant Project Development Manager and play a crucial role in delivering a portfolio of transmission-scale generation and load connection projects. AusNet's Infrastructure portfolio includes high-voltage transmission lines, terminal stations, large-scale renewable energy assets, and utility-scale batteries, all vital to Australia's energy transition.
In this role, you will support the Senior Project Development Manager and assist in managing the Development and Bid stages of transmission connections. Your responsibilities will include coordinating procurement, engineering, land, planning, stakeholder, environment, regulatory, commercial, and legal activities to bring projects to financial close and handover to delivery. You will also manage the development process of connection projects as assigned by the Head of Project Development.

With a 3/2 hybrid split between office and work-from-home, this role is based in Southbank and is part of the Development & Future Networks team. This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to: Assisting the PDM/SPDM in the delivery of projects within the allocated budgets in a timely, efficient and effective manner. The role involves supporting the coordination/management of multidisciplinary project teams consisting of internal and external resources, e.g., engineering, planning, commercial, etc.Preparing project reports, creating and maintaining project schedules and tracking project costs and other financial metricsManaging relationships with relevant stakeholders, internal and externalManagement of contracts and contractors, requisitions, orders and invoices associated with assigned projectsDevelopment of required inputs for management papers and commercial negotiations as requiredAssist the Head of Project Development and Project Development team on general matters as requiredYou don't need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of: A relevant tertiary qualification in Project Management, Engineering or associated discipline (or relevant qualification equivalent to)Experience in Management Consulting and/or Project Management on infrastructure projects preferredProject support experience in Project Development in an Infrastructure environment e.g. renewables, utilities or similar industryExcellent written and verbal communication skills which evidence a high capacity to influence at all levels including executivesGood interpersonal skills that enable communication and work with all levels of internal stakeholders and external customers / suppliersExperience in managing virtual teams including functions such as legal, finance, engineering consultants, etc. or ability to do soHighly skilled in MS Excel and preferably MS Project or similar scheduling softwareStrong commercial and financial acumen.
