Position Information Sans Souci Public School is a vibrant K-6 school located in southern Sydney within the Kogarah Network. The school has an enrolment of 555 students, including 12 Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander students and 69% of students from a non-English speaking background. An Inclusive Education Unit of 3 classes has been established in 2024. Excellent academic programs, highly-trained and dedicated staff, a proactive community and a well-resourced physical environment offer our students the very best opportunities to excel. There is a strong focus on inclusive education, positive student and staff wellbeing, underpinning a culture of continuous improvement. The school has a well-established community language program and offers rich extra-curricular opportunities for students that further support learning and wellbeing in an inclusive environment. The school encourages respectful relationships and relational trust which has strengthened partnerships between school and home. The school continues to work on further developing a culture of high expectations, where feedback is a valued tool for continuous development. The school's aim is to embed evaluative practices that are regular, responsive and systematic that will drive future direction and school improvement. Selection Criteria In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary Demonstrated capacity and experience in balancing exemplary classroom practice and coordination of the complex leadership and management role of an Assistant Principal. Proven ability to lead with integrity and develop strong collaborative teams characterised by high levels of collective efficacy, relational trust and psychological safety that enable students to benefit from the combined knowledge and expertise of the team. A proactive leader with demonstrated expertise in leading inclusive curriculum implementation, driven by a focus on evidence-based and data-informed practice. Demonstrated ability to positively contribute to whole school wellbeing and behaviour management processes, drawing on a restorative approach to support staff and students to connect, succeed and thrive. General Selection Criteria 1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents 5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning 6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy Conditions An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
