Position Information Our school is located in the suburb of Wallsend and has a proud history of having provided more than 150 years of public education to the community.
We proudly acknowledge that we teach and learn on Awabakal land.
The average enrolment is 195 with 29% identifying as Aboriginal and 23% as having a non-English speaking background.
EALD representation is increasing in our school, and we are actively strengthening our school community supports.

The school has a strong focus on providing individualised learning opportunities for students to achieve.
This includes significant access to technology, cultural experiences and alternative play opportunities.
The school has strong practices in data analysis and a focus on explicit teaching.

Selection Criteria Demonstrated experience as a teaching executive who meets the needs of students in a complex classroom and actively builds relationships with community and colleagues.
Demonstrated experience in delivering, supporting and coordinating extracurricular activities such as performing arts showcases, sporting events and other gifted and high potential programs.
Demonstrated experience in leading, inspiring and mentoring teachers to develop effective Mathematics and English programs K-6, that embed differentiated teaching and learning opportunities and high expectations to meet the diverse needs of all students.
Demonstrated experience in actively contributing to whole school evaluation with executive and stage teams on school improvement, external validation and curriculum and policy monitoring.
General Selection Criteria Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice.
Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs.
Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams.
Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents.
Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning.
Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy.
Conditions An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement.
If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
