Assistant Practice Manager

Exciting opportunity for the right candidate. This post is for hours per week. The successful candidate will work alongside the Practice Manager providing support with the day-to-day running of the surgery and taking responsibility for certain aspects of the duties associated with management.
It is advantageous that the right candidate will have experience of working in a GP surgery. They should be capable of using their own initiative when required and have the confidence to work alone.
Main duties of the jobTo support the Practice Manager in all aspects of practice functionality, motivating and managing staff, optimising efficiency and overall performance, ensuring the practice achieves its long-term strategic objectives in a safe and effective working environment.
To manage and coordinate all aspects of practice functionality, motivating and managing staff, patient services, premises and health and safety management.
Through innovative ways of working, support the Practice Manager leading the team in promoting quality and continuous improvement, confidentiality, collaborative working, service delivery, learning and development and ensuring the practice complies with CQC regulations.

Person SpecificationQualificationsGood standard of education with excellent literacy and numeracy skillsEducated to A-level/equivalent or higher with relevant experienceExperienceExperience of working with the general publicExperience of working in a healthcare settingExperience of managing multidisciplinary teamsExperience of performance management, including appraisal writing, staff development and disciplinary proceduresDisclosure and Barring Service CheckThis post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
