The Department of Customer Service (DCS) is looking for an Assistant Policy Officer to join our team within the State Insurance Regulatory Authority (SIRA). The position is in the System Improvements, Policy & Performance (Workers Compensation) Directorate.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in our State Insurance Regulatory Authority (SIRA). SIRA regulates three statutory insurance schemes in NSW – Workers Compensation, Compulsory Third Party (CTP), and Home Building Compensation, and also has some regulatory functions in other NSW insurance schemes including the Lifetime Care and Support and Dust Diseases schemes.
Your responsibilities will include: Provide policy advice both internally and externally on issues relevant to the NSW workers compensation scheme and assist in the delivery of NSW Government initiatives and commitments.Consult with external stakeholders to inform and develop policy initiatives.Manage projects and initiatives on issues relevant to workers compensation.Provide support for SIRA's involvement in inter-jurisdictional fora.Contribute to the work of the broader workers compensation policy team as needed.About you: Experience in policy development and analysis.Analytical thinker who can think outside the box to solve complex problems.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Maintains collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Comfortable working in an agile environment.Demonstrates initiative and able to manage competing priorities.A team player who can contribute towards a constructive working environment.Knowledge of and interest in personal injury and the statutory insurance schemes will be highly regarded.If you want to be part of this forward-thinking team, we would love to hear from you!
