About the role The Assistant Manager is responsible for managing day-to-day operations of our Bunbury plant and supporting the Business Manager to ensure operational targets are met - maintaining a high standard of product quality, supply, customer service, safety and environmental compliance. Responsibilities include: Manage day to day operations of plant including quality, stock control & rotation, barcoding & purchase of consumables Day to day production planning (to budget), personnel allocation & training Implementation, maintenance & compliance of Zero Harm programme & overall safety environment Assist with month end processing & reports Quality Control, including sample analysis, statutory resting requirements & monitoring Assist with management review, WHS, Quality & Chain of Custody meetings Develop & maintain strong & compliant relationships with integral service & consumable providers People Management – continual development of staff through training, succession planning & talent management Focus on building & maintaining a positive work culture, with a focus on safety & wellbeing What are we looking for 2yrs+ experience in Timber Manufacturing/Treatment (or similar industry) preferred 1yr+ people management experience or studies Understanding of Budgeting, Payroll, Ordering and Accounting principals Understanding of Timber Technology Demonstrable leadership skills Ability to communicate and liaise with a wide range of people, including plant personnel, senior management, customers and providers Sound Mechanical understanding Strong knowledge of quality, environment and safety standards What's on offer Opportunity to establish a long term career with a thriving subsidiary of a global company Supportive team environment in an organisation with strong values Tools of trade Immediate start available If this role appeals to you, we'd love to hear from you.
