Fresh off the back of our recent wins for "Premium Dining" for Aurora Restaurant and "Events Caterer" for ILA in the recent Restaurant & Catering Awards, ILA is seeking a full-time Assistant Hospitality Manager to join our team.ILA is Adelaide's centre for immersive light and art, a space where creativity, technology and hospitality blend to deliver breathtaking and innovative immersive experiences. ILA is a non-profit organisation dedicated to supporting the arts, the immersive arts in particular.Located on Light Square in the CBD, our spaces include the Aurora Restaurant, The Lab Bar which is part of a multi-genre venue surrounded by LED screens, our outdoor beer garden The Lab Garden, and on Level 1 is our Light Room Bar, Gallery and Studio featuring 150sqm of immersive screens.Aurora Restaurant is a world-class award-winning dining experience within ILA, led by innovative Executive Chef Robin Wagner. Featuring a purpose-built wood fired grill, it also provides catering for hundreds of functions and events within ILA each year. The Aurora team is also responsible for the food menu and delivery to The Light Room Bar and the delivery of some world-leading dining experiences like The Immersive Table.About the role:The Assistant Hospitality Manager will support the Hospitality Manager in all aspects of staff training, service and event operations. It will have an operational focus on the Aurora Restaurant, bars and functions/events in all venues, establishing a reputation of excellence and consistency. It is also responsible for the design, implementation, and service delivery of beverages across all venues.Reporting to the Hospitality Manager and the Executive Chef, your duties will include:Lead and supervise food and beverage service in our restaurants, bars and on functions and eventsSupervise and facilitate functions and events across all hospitality outletsIn conjunction with the Hospitality Manager, oversee and create an excellent beverage program, including creating and maintaining partnerships and supply relationships with beverage suppliers to meet required budget parametersCommunicate effectively with the FOH, kitchen and event teamsRostering in FOH, bars and event service as requiredAssist with stock control including monthly stocktakeAct as "second-in-charge" to the Hospitality Manager and fulfil essential elements of that role whenever that person is absent including staffing requirements, maintenance and front-of-house operationsAbout you:Minimum 3+ years' experience in a similar senior supervisory position, preferably in a multi-faceted venue/environmentSommelier experience would be highly regardedExcellent customer service skills and friendly personalityExceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and establish rapport across various areas of the organisationWell-presented at all timesAble to motivate, mentor and develop the skills of a diverse hospitality and FOH teamOutstanding attention to detail, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment in a unique venueFluent English, spoken and writtenFull working rights in AustraliaCurrent RSA, RP badgeWilling and able to work weekdays, weeknights and weekendsWhy choose us?At ILA we believe in a culture that embodies our core values of growth mindset, open communication, respect, professionalism and support, and leading by example.
