Long Reef Golf Club based on Sydney's Northern Beaches is seeking to appoint an Assistant General Manager to be a key member of the Senior Management Team. The Club is entering an exciting era, having recently taken over the operation of the Golf Shop, completed Course upgrades and now progressing towards a major refurbishment of the Clubhouse.

More than a Golf Club, our beachfront Clubhouse operates a waterfront café and bar 7 days a week open to our Members, guests and the general public, as well as hosting over 100 weddings annually.

About the role: We are looking for someone keen to progressing their career in the Golf industry with the goal of becoming a Club General Manager in the future. The Assistant General Manager will work closely with the General Manager and wider Senior Management team to execute the strategic plan set out by the Board of Directors.
The Assistant General Manager's major focus will administer all golf operation and golf participation aspects of the Club. Working closing with direct reports including the Director of Golf, Membership & Marketing Manager and their respective teams.
Reporting to the General Manager, the Assistant General Manager's key responsibilities will include: Assisting in the day-to-day management of the Club and its facilities. Responsible for the daily management of staff and staffing related matters within the Golf and Administration departments. Oversight and management of all Charity Golf Days from start to finish. In conjunction with the Club Captain and Golf Committee, develop the Club's annual Member's golf program and facilitate major trophy events. Working with the Course Superintendent and Director of Golf to ensure the overall Course utilisation meets the budgeted levels. Investigating opportunities to continue to enhance the Member satisfaction levels across all areas of the Club. In conjunction with the General Manager, provide secretariat services to the Board and relevant sub-committees. Ensure professional, expert and personalised service is delivered to Members and guests. Build relations with all Member groups and actively engage with Members every week whilst at the Club. Management of the WHS programs related to the relevant departments. Contribute to the development of the annual operating budget and plan. Assume the role of General Manager in the absence of the General Manager. About you: Motivated and organised individual who portrays a positive attitude with strong work ethic. Extensive experience in various areas of Golf Clubs, in particular understanding of Golf Operations. Ideally across various types of public and private Clubs. A hands-on, can-do approach working well in a team environment and proven experience managing staff across a multi-faceted venue. HR knowledge is beneficial. Personable and enjoys interacting with Members and other relevant stakeholders. Strong IT skills and knowledge of MYOB accounting, MiClub Golf Management Software is beneficial. This role requires regular weekend work and varying shift times depending on the Club's events and meeting requirements.
