To match this growth, we are seeking a dedicated full-time Assistant Financial Accountant - Jetstar to join our Retail APAC team based at our offices in Coolangatta.
More about this role: As the Assistant Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for the performance of various reporting and business analysis requirements across the Jetstar Asia Group operations, our contracted retail management partner.
Working closely with and reporting to the Finance Manager Jetstar, this role will help gather and define business requirements, and hold the direct responsibility for the tasks and techniques used to perform business analysis.
The scope will include reviews and financial commentary on the performance of our different products and services for JQ Singapore and assist internationally for sectors covering JQ businesses in Australia, New Zealand, and Japan.
In a nutshell, your main responsibilities are: Prepare P&L statements for review by JQ Finance Manager Review performance of revenues, sales, and costs Work closely with operational teams for timely and accurate transfer of information relating to the Jetstar business Work closely with Procurement and Supply Chain team for stocktake and reconciliations of inventory items Assist with accurate End of Month journaling and reporting Assist with identifying variances and analysis reports versus previous month Assist with regular review of Balance Sheets in preparation of End of Month Assist JQ Finance Manager with input into our vendor management process, when requiring financial advice or preparation and review of any third party RFPs or tenders Assist with weekly payroll journals and liaise with our National Payroll team for any queries relating to this area.
Attend and participate in internal and external audits as required, this may include at our warehouse, on board aircraft or corporate office.
Continuously monitor and practice documentation integrity, for audit & compliance Proactively identify opportunities for improvement within the business Assist JQ Finance Manager lead and mentor the Accounting and Reconciliation team Comply with any regulatory and statutory requirements of the business, advising if any changes are required to reflect updated legislative or industry standards What do you need to be successful in this role? Proven experience as an Assistant Financial Accountant Experience with complex reporting and P&L analysis Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Advanced Excel skills and ability to use Power BI (preferred) Preferred experience with queries, p-tables, presenting dashboards Project related experience, working on projects affecting business processes, with the ability to assist in process improvements.
Strong communication skills, elevated stakeholder engagement skills and able to operate independently with little supervision.
Demonstrated success in delivering enhancements to systems and processes Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Commitment and patience to resolve problems/issues in a timely manner.
Flexibility to work hours to meet project and business requirements and implementation deadlines.
