About our opportunity This process is being used to fill 1 immediate vacancy. A merit pool may be established and used to fill similar vacancies for up to 18 months.
About our team The Security Branch defines the security requirements for the Department and assures their achievement in order to protect our people, information and assets. This includes maintaining the Agency Security Plan and the Security Risk Management Framework. Security Branch provides strong leadership in protective security and takes an intelligence-informed, risk-based approach to enable the Department's business and protect our people, information and assets.
Security Operations section The Security Operations section provides best practice physical security advice and support to Home Affairs (HA) and the Australian Border Force (ABF) construction and renovation projects, policies, and procedures; directly contributing to the Department meeting its Government protective security responsibilities.
Security Projects section The Security Projects section is responsible for coordinating the Department's Enterprise Security Risk Assessment (ESRA) and in undertaking Security Risk Assessments and Management Plans (SRAMPs) for departmental sites onshore.
Our ideal candidate Our Ideal candidate would have a good:
working knowledge of the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) working knowledge of (and ability to engage with) the risk management principles of ANZ ISO 31000 and security risk HB167; background working in security operations or security risk assessments or a related discipline; ability to write and document security requirements and observations into formal documentation. Duties and responsibilities Lead physical security design and planning on infrastructure and property related projects or lead the planning and undertaking of security risks assessments. Oversee the development of various documentation (fit out briefs, Zone certification reports, security risk assessments etc.). Manage various registers (zone certification, projects, construction and room data sheets and security hardware and product brochures, and site locations for security risk assessments). Mentor and guide junior staff members. Undertake domestic travel as required. Additional information The successful candidate must hold or be willing to obtain certificate IV in Government Security or a certificate IV in Security and Risk Management. Ability to undertake domestic travel on a semi-regular basis. Eligibility To be eligible for the position you must be an Australian Citizen.
The successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting Level 1 (AGSVA) security clearance, and:
ABF Workers will also be required to obtain and maintain an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC). Home Affairs Workers will also be required to obtain and maintain an Onboarding Check. In certain circumstances, an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC) may be required in addition to, or in lieu of, an Onboarding Check, which will be determined by the delegate as necessary.
