Reporting directly to the Deputy Director, this position will focus on driving business recruitment and high-level investment initiatives. Key responsibilities include:Prospecting & Closing Deals: Identify and engage with potential businesses and investors, turning prospects into successful projects. Lead proposal development, negotiations, and deal closures to secure new investments.Lead Generation & Business Recruitment: Direct business recruitment efforts through outreach, marketing missions, and strategic proposals. Collaborate with the marketing team to create compelling campaigns and position Prince William County as a destination for national and international investment.Stakeholder Engagement & Partnerships: Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including local businesses, commercial developers, regional partners, and state organizations. Collaborate with partners like VEDP, NOVA EDA, and the local Chamber of Commerce to enhance business investment opportunities.Cross-Department Collaboration: Serve as a liaison between Economic Development and other county departments, such as planning, transportation, and workforce development, to facilitate business investment projects. Work to align development efforts with county priorities.Performance Metrics & Reporting: Track and report key performance metrics related to business investment efforts, ensuring transparency and accountability. Use data to continuously improve recruitment and investment outcomes.Minimum Requirements:High school diploma or GED; and8 years of related experience.Preferences:A bachelor's degree in business administration, economics, marketing, communications, or a related field10 years of experience in business development, economic development, or a closely related field, with a focus on business attraction and investmentProven expertise in developing investment strategies and driving business recruitment efforts.Strong knowledge of commercial real estate, incentives, and economic trends.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with experience managing external partnerships.Experience managing business development programs using CRM tools like SalesforceStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsSpecial Requirements:This role requires occasional travel for trade shows and conferences. Physical demands include standard office duties with occasional lifting of materials for events.Work Schedule:The Department operates from Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, though this role may require occasional evening and weekend commitments. Travel will be required on an as-needed basis.
