Assistant Director, Information and Security Systems
Full-time Temporary with a Possibility of PermanencyDetails: A career opportunity has arisen in ACT Corrective Services (ACTCS) for an experienced, highly motivated, career-oriented person to fill the position of Assistant Director, Information and Security Systems (ISS), within Corporate Services.
The successful applicant will be responsible for the day to day operations of Electronic Security and Information Systems used at Alexander Maconochie Centre (AMC) and 2 Constitution Avenue (2CA) to monitor and maintain the safety and security of detainees, staff and visitors.
The successful applicant will work collaboratively with their Senior Director, and the Director, Information and Security Systems, for all ICT Security systems and associated technologies across ACTCS.
You will also provide technical leadership and assist with project, contract, and procurement management and administer a broad portfolio of systems.
Further to this, you will provide high quality briefings, reports, and written material relating to matters from the information, security, and business systems portfolios, for the Commissioner, Executive Team and other stakeholders.
This includes critical thinking and problem solving, including the identification and management of risk in relation to Electronic Security Systems across AMC and ACTCS.
To be successful, you will possess excellent interpersonal, organisational and communication skills necessary to build rapport with a diverse range of stakeholders, in addition to demonstrated experience in the security systems administration and management, in a complex technical and operational environment.
Eligibility/Other Requirements: Relevant experience of at least three years in security systems operations, ICT systems administration and ICT technical support is desirable.Experience in Corrections or similar Government agencies is desirable.To be eligible for permanent or temporary employment within the ACT Public Service (ACTPS) you must be an Australian citizen, a permanent resident or hold a valid work visa.If an officer no longer holds a visa that permits them to work in Australia, their employment with the ACT Public Service (ACTPS) will be terminated.The successful candidate may be required to undergo a criminal record check.How to Apply: To apply, applicants are required to submit three items: (1) a one to three page written response addressing the professional/technical skills and knowledge and behavioural capabilities, having regard for the job requirements; (2) a current curriculum vitae with the names and contact details of two referees (one should be a current Supervisor/Manager); and (3) a copy of your driver's licence.
