About the role The Department of Justice is looking for someone with a passion for industrial relations and extensive experience in leading the delivery of responsive and effective high-level industrial relations advisory services in a complex and contested environment to join us in the role of Assistant Director, Industrial Relations.
The position is responsible for ensuring the delivery of timely, proficient and effective industrial relation advice and consultancy services, and ensuring continual improvement of the Department's industrial practices by:
Enabling management to respond to workplace issues in compliance with relevant workplace laws and industrial instruments.Responding to industrial disputes, including matters before relevant courts and tribunals.Managing the Department's industrial instruments.As the successful candidate you will need to be able to:
Provide leadership, direction, development and oversight of the Industrial Relations Branch.Maintain effective oversight of industrial negotiations and investigations.Monitor progress of industrial relations matters including sensitive negotiations and disputes.Advocate on behalf of the Department in the Industrial Relations Commission and other relevant tribunals.Develop, foster and maintain effective business relationships with stakeholders.Champion continuous improvement via leading the development and delivery of contemporary workforce and industrial relations strategies.To be eligible for appointment to permanent positions in the West Australian Public Sector you must be an Australian citizen or have permanent resident status in Australia.
