Assistant Director, Indigo Governance & Assurance Skip to content Assistant Director, Indigo Governance & Assurance Full time You will join a team of a highly motivated and collaborative professionals that work in the Enterprise Transformation Group (ETG).
The ETG is made up of two Divisions, the Chief Information Officer Division (CIOD) and the Enterprise Strategy and Transformation Division (ESTD), that have been established to drive the AEC's transformation agenda, and to deliver the Election Systems Modernisation Program (Indigo Program) on behalf of the agency.
The Indigo Governance and Assurance Team within the Indigo Program Management Office is responsible for maintaining oversight of the Indigo Program.
This includes implementing fit-for-purpose governance arrangements and assessing Program performance through various assurance activities.
The team is also responsible for ensuring the Program meets its external reporting obligations to the Department of Finance and the Digital Transformation Agency.

You will operate in a fast paced, dynamic environment, working closely with Directors, Assistant Commissioners, First Assistant Commissioners, and all areas across the ETG.
The Opportunity The Assistant Director will undertake a range of activities to support the effective and efficient functioning of the Indigo Program.
Providing high level support to the Assistant Commissioner and Directors.
This will include leading and managing a small team in the provision of a range of Program planning, reporting, governance and assurance activities.
This will require preparation and review of high-level documentation, analysis and advice.
The role will work closely with the Indigo and ETG leadership teams to ensure that work tasks are of high quality and completed on time.
This role will also involve facilitating strategic activities for the Program, requiring engagement with internal stakeholders. The Assistant Director will provide analysis on complex issues and contribute to the planning, preparation and co-ordination of policy formulation and/or Program management, while leading continuous improvement activities and champion opportunities to mature program planning, reporting, governance and assurance practice for the Program. You will review and develop strategies to evolve program governance and assurance in an agile program delivery environment including regularly reviewing Program performance and act on emerging risks and issues.
To excel you'll have: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to effectively communicate information to a range of audiences. Strong attention to detail and experience in managing quality assurance (writing, editing, proof reading) of high volumes of correspondence, briefs and reports.
Excellent teamwork skills, with the ability to work with colleagues to achieve outcomes.
Demonstrated analysis and investigative skills, gathering information from a variety of sources, exploring new ideas, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and identifying any critical gaps.
Experience effectively managing competing priorities and strategic directions, with the ability to remain calm under pressure and respond flexibly to change and uncertainty.
Strategic skills to drive and positively influence team members and stakeholders.
Proven ability to make sensitive and complex decisions using professional judgement within legislative parameters and delegated authority.
Relevant tertiary qualifications in a related field Experience working in, managing or co-ordinating projects or programs, preferably using an Agile methodology.

The AEC is responsible for conducting federal elections and referendums and maintaining the Commonwealth electoral roll.
