The Assistant Director, Personnel Services Division position provides a unique job opportunity in a large agency, in a multi-disciplined team setting, which is critical to the delivery of key Human Resources (HR) functions to support the Western Australia Police Force workforce. We seek a highly motivated individual to provide strategic thinking leadership and oversee the daily operations of the Personnel Services Division. This critical position actively contributes to supporting frontline officers in keeping our community safe by overseeing the agency's payroll operations, including administering the payment of employee benefits, coordinating the organisational design functions to meet organisational need and overseeing Police Staff recruitment and deployment processes. THE ROLE Leads a multi-disciplinary team of human resource personnel to deliver a service that continually meets and exceeds customer expectations through the development and implementation of innovative, quality, professional and responsive HR functions and services relating to personnel services across Western Australian Police Force. Manages the development, coordination and implementation of policies, programmes, strategies and procedures aligned to best practice and Public Sector Standards, relating to personnel, payroll and employee benefits, police staff recruiting and deployment, and organisational design. As a member of the Workforce (Human Resources) Leadership Team, actively contributes to the development, implementation and monitoring of Workforce portfolio, directorate and division strategic and business plans. ROLE OF WORK UNIT The Personnel Services Division comprises Personnel Payroll, Police Staff Selection and Deployment, Organisational Design and Analysis, and Payroll Operations. The Division is responsible for the integrated personnel and payroll function and provides advice and support to employees and management regarding employee entitlements. The Division also provides a comprehensive consultancy service in relation to recruitment and selection, transfers, redeployment, police staff contracts and organisational design matters.
