The Western Australia Police Force seeks a highly motivated individual with strong leadership, effective communication skills, and the ability to manage both a local team of staff and a wide and varied network of stakeholders (both internal and external) across the state.
As an inclusive and strategic-thinking leader, you will need the ability to forecast risks and implement mechanisms to resolve these through good management and relationships.
THE ROLE OF THE WORK UNITThe Community Partnerships and Support Division is the centre of strategic service agreements and contract management expertise for the WA Police Force. The Division identifies opportunities and commissions service providers in the not-for-profit and ACCO sectors to deliver programs that divert people from offending behaviours, build community capacity, and support the broader Policing Fundamentals across the state.
THE ROLEThe Assistant Director of Community Partnerships and Support Division engages with stakeholders both internally and externally in relation to the Police Community Services Fund. These activities require mapping and research of community stakeholder programs across the state, communication and negotiation at both the management and executive level with stakeholder agencies, and the delivery of sound governance and evaluation processes to ensure effectiveness and strategic alignment.

Ability to manage strategic service agreements, contract management, and financial management - Utilizing state government service agreements. Applying the requirements of the Financial Management Act 2006. Using multi-disciplinary resources to meet demands.Leadership and management skills - Leading as a senior manager in a large-scale agency. Conducting resolution management and negotiating compromises for overall business benefits. Managing a diverse team. Leading complex negotiations and management of contract disputes.Applicants are also required to submit a comprehensive Curriculum Vitae (CV). Your CV should provide enough detail (dot points are sufficient) to allow the selection panel to assess your skills, experience, and qualifications relevant to the Key Accountabilities of the attached Position Description Form.
The CV must also include the names and contact details of two (2) referees who can comment on the applicant's ability to satisfy all of the Essential Work Related Requirements. Applicants should nominate at least one immediate (most contemporary) supervisor/manager unless exceptional circumstances exist.

OTHER CONDITIONSWhilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other similar vacancies throughout the metropolitan area. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position, then the panel may select another suitable applicant from this selection process. Both of these options remain valid for a period of twelve (12) months from the initial date of the appointment.
