POSITION OVERVIEW The Assistant Director, Human Resources is responsible for the development and delivery of a range of strategic and operational people services and initiatives that support positive workforce experience, leadership capability, and business outcomes at ACT Courts and Tribunal.
The Assistant Director, Human Resources, in collaboration with the Directorate's People and Workplace Strategy (PWS) team, provides technical and high-level strategic advice on complex human resource matters and supports operational people services such as workforce planning, recruitment, learning and development, performance management, and reporting.
The Assistant Director, Human Resources will lead the implementation of key strategic human resource initiatives such as: ACT Courts and Tribunal People Strategy Operational Workforce Plans Learning and Development Framework These initiatives aim to meet current and future workforce needs and build a safe and inclusive workplace culture.
The position may, from time to time, liaise with judicial officers or members of the tribunal on less complex human resource matters.
The Assistant Director, Human Resources will be responsible for the oversight of the Human Resource Officer (ASO6) in the People and Governance team.

Eligibility/Other Requirements: Qualifications: Qualifications in human resources, employee relations, or psychology are highly desirable.
Computer Literacy: Computer literacy skills are relevant to this role as you will use several computer software programs to undertake the tasks required.
Citizenship Requirements: To be eligible for permanent employment within the ACT Public Service, you must be an Australian citizen or a permanent resident.
To be eligible for temporary employment with the ACT Public Service, you must hold a valid work visa, be an Australian citizen, or a permanent resident.
Background Check: The successful candidate will be required to undergo a National Criminal History check.
Working with Vulnerable People Registration: This position does not require a Working with Vulnerable People registration.
Pre-employment Medical: This position does not require a pre-employment medical.
Notes: This is a temporary position available immediately for a period of 12 months with the possibility of permanency.
A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and may be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months.
