The opportunity Due to the changing nature of the national security environment, the Australian Government continues to adapt its personnel security posture to meet the needs of a contemporary and diverse workforce and to protect its most sensitive resources. The Assistant Director-General Vetting and Assessments Services is responsible for leading the co-design and coordination of business processes, sponsoring business change and modernisation programs, leveraging industry standards and best practices, and utilising existing ASIO capability to drive enterprise efficiency in the TOP SECRET-Privileged Access (TS-PA) capability. The role involves providing assurance by coordinating and reporting on adherence to governance, risk, and compliance frameworks. The Assistant Director-General must foster positive and productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, promoting open dialogue and mutual understanding, and ensuring that services are consistent with ASIO's enterprise policies and approaches. This role is pivotal in driving the success of Government's TS-PA reforms by effectively managing resources, prioritising competing demands, and delivering results within tight deadlines.
Role responsibilities Assistant Director-General Vetting and Assessments Services is responsible for:
Delivering project and program outcomes to support the implementation of the TS-PA Authority. Overseeing service delivery functions, including service level agreements, reporting and standards management, and stakeholder relationships across the National Intelligence Community, broader Government and Industry. Delivering business administration functions in close coordination with internal stakeholders to support operations, including the coordination of procurement processes, contract administration and resource planning and management. Developing systems and professional competency to maximise the value derived from digital platforms and technical solutions enabling the TS-PA Authority. Demonstrated experience in successfully leading the delivery of large-scale complex, multi-year projects and programs, with a focus on driving organisational reform and improving overall operational efficiency. Proven ability to shape strategic direction, develop innovative solutions with a focus on service delivery optimisation. Exceptional engagement and communications skills to cultivate productive working relationships across the National Intelligence Community, government and industry to deliver new and enhanced capabilities. Proven ability to lead and implement corporate and commercial initiatives with experience working in Commonwealth government service delivery, relevant Commonwealth Rules and Guidelines and other whole of Australian Government policy frameworks. Proven ability to prioritise and continuously adapt to deliver results and uplift capability in a dynamic, high pressure and challenging environment.
