DEPARTMENT OF PLANNING, LANDS AND HERITAGEAssistant Director General, Business and Corporate Services00015132, Class 2, $196,891 pa + Super, Public Sector CSA Agreement 2022 Fixed term for up to 5 years The Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage is seeking a dynamic and strategic leader, with a passion for driving change and delivering exceptional corporate services to support the Director General in achieving the Government's priorities and Department's outcomes.
As a key member of the leadership team, the Assistant Director General, Business and Corporate Services will oversee delivery of corporate and business functions, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability and sound financial management. You will drive efficient asset and resource management, direct contemporary business and customer services, and provide strategic advice to Ministers, Boards and Committees, the Director General and corporate executive team. Collaboration is critical in this role, partnering with stakeholders across the public sector and representing the Department at various forums. As the Department's Cyber Security Accountable Authority, you will ensure effective risk management and compliance.
This position will be filled through a Senior Executive Service contract for up to 5 years. This process may be used to fill future similar permanent or fixed-term positions that may arise within the Department and across the WA public sector in the next 12 months from the initial date of appointment.
Our office is located in Perth CBD in a convenient location, above the Perth Underground rail; close to the Wellington Street Bus Station and City CAT services.
To be successful for this position, you need to demonstrate:Significant and demonstrated experience in leading the development, alignment and delivery of corporate and business support services across a medium to large organisation.Strong financial acumen including a well-developed understanding of financial accountability and reporting requirements.Working knowledge of public sector frameworks, principles and practices as they relate to finance, information services, facilities, procurement and human resources.Core leadership behaviours outlined in Leadership Expectations are applicable to this role and should be demonstrated in the context of Executive Leader. Executive Leaders context is about shaping complex initiatives covering multiple business areas as well as having a key responsibility in corporate governance.
