Assistant Director, Finance (Various)

The Finance Group is looking to fill roles across its three branches:
Financial Services BranchFinancial Management BranchBudget Development Branch Successful candidates will undertake a range of responsibilities to support the Chief Financial Officer, relevant Branch Manager, and Director to deliver high-quality financial services to the department and contribute to the Finance Group leadership.

The key duties of the position include: Provide, maintain, and enhance the framework for internal financial management and budgeting, including governance, policies, and processes.Undertake a key role to manage and deliver the internal financial management and budgeting process across the annual cycle, including budget allocation, monthly executive reporting, mid-year review, and end-of-year processes.Undertake a key role in meeting the department's external financial reporting requirements, including reporting and analysis for the CFO and Department of Finance, and preparation of financial statements.Assist (where applicable) in the preparation of budget costings, new policy proposals, and financial submissions for consideration by the Executive and Government.Work collaboratively with business areas on delivering robust internal financial management and budgeting in DSS.Undertake financial reviews as required by the CFO and work collaboratively across the Finance Group to deliver continuous improvement in financial services to business areas.Build and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders across the portfolio, other agencies, and external providers.Manage staff and their priorities to deliver high-quality and timely team outputs.
