We are seeking an organised and proactive Assistant Coordination Officer to join our team in supporting local governments and communities to prepare for and recover from disasters. In this role, you will contribute to the development of projects and stakeholder engagement approaches through a variety of tasks including research, analysis, reporting; as well as provide service delivery and operational support.
About the Role: As an Assistant Coordination Officer, you will:
Support Local and Regional Recovery Programs: Contribute to the successful implementation of recovery programs and initiatives, ensuring that services and benefits effectively reach disaster-affected communities and individuals. Manage Program Documentation: Update and manage documentation to ensure adherence to agreed project management methodologies and contribute to records management. Conduct Research and Analysis: Conduct research and analysis in designated project areas, interpret operational policies and procedures, and assist in the preparation of project briefs to support decision-making and planning. Communicate with Stakeholders: Communicate with stakeholders to provide updates on project status and address implementation issues. Provide Administrative Support: Offer secretariat and administrative services, including coordinating committee meetings and preparing related documentation, to facilitate effective project management and service delivery. Collaborate with Colleagues: Collaborate with colleagues to share insights, develop efficient work practices, and assist with crisis management in other local or regional areas. About You: You are a detail-oriented and analytical individual with a strong ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Your experience in project support and administration has equipped you with the skills needed to excel in a fast-paced environment.

To be successful in this role, you will have:
Proven experience in project coordination, research, or administrative roles. An understanding of NSW disaster management and recovery processes. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and policies. Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail. Proficiency in documentation management and project reporting. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively and support team efforts across different projects. In addition to this, you will also meet the following essential requirements:
An ability and willingness to travel within NSW and support other operational roles during disasters, emergencies and other events, consistent with skills, background and personal circumstances. Current unrestricted NSW drivers' licence. About the Agency: The NSW Reconstruction Authority (the Authority) is a statutory corporation within Planning, Housing and Infrastructure.
The Authority will improve how NSW plans for disasters and help communities to recover from them faster.
To reduce the severity and impacts of disasters, the Authority will complete critical planning and preparation with communities, NGOs, businesses, and government.
When disasters occur, we will get recovery started swiftly and coordinate reconstruction efforts across agencies, communities, and other stakeholders.
