Overview of the position This position is Part-time (20 - 25 hours / week) and based in our modern office in East Perth, with easy access to public transport.
The Assistant Accountant provides support to the Australian operations of Ziksu Capital Limited. The role demands loyalty, dedication, and ambition to grow with the company.
The Assistant Accountant: Is an integral part of Ziksu's Business operations and the Financial Accounts team.Ensures regulatory requirements of the business are met, in line with Standard Accounting Practices and Financial Industry regulatory obligations. Interprets and applies accounting practices, rules, and regulations, to all work diligently.Maintains confidentiality of all financial dataDelivers accurate, timely and high-quality accounts services, as required by the CFO and other Directors.Acts as the first point of contact for accounts related enquiries and correspondence.Processes accounts and payments accurately and resolves exceptions promptly. Communicates effectively, models integrity and respect in all interactions.Ensures integrity and accuracy of accounting records and data.Provides Financial Reports, as required, to the Ziksu Board of Directors, at the end of every month.Supports the Chief Financial Officer, and the Board of Directors in other financial activities of the business, as required.Requirements of the position The incumbent is expected to: Operate within Ziksu's framework, policies, and procedures, ensuring effective transparency and accountability in all activity.Work collaboratively with staff in other departments to achieve common goals and best practice.Communicate effectively, with personnel, at all levels across the organisation.Demonstrate initiative, autonomy, analytical problem-solving skills, and alignment with Ziksu's strategic objectives.Demonstrate a strong customer focus, always.Consider Ziksu's objectives first when undertaking all duties.Demonstrate exceptional research, conceptual and analytical skills. Provide innovative solutions to strategic and complex issues.Display a well-developed knowledge and understanding of the legislative requirements, accounting standards, and best practice methodologies relevant to financial compliance.Support organisational change and continuous improvement by actively contributing to achieve Ziksu's vision, mission, and priorities.Role specific responsibilities Maintains current knowledge of regulatory and statutory requirements and changes. (ASIC, ATO, AUSTRAC etc.)Undertakes all support duties related to Financial Accounting and Reporting, including but not limited to Payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.Compile and prepare routine financial and statistical statements, reports, and summaries.Reconciliation and Analysis of financial information, accounts and statements to identify, report, and resolve discrepancies.Maintaining accurate accounts data and provide high level reports, as requiredPerform accounting duties in line with Standard Operating Procedures Process payroll to ensure staff are paid on time and in compliance with all legislative requirements.Liaise with HR Department to process payroll adjustments, e.g., new starts, terminations, leave claims, changes in pay rates etc. as required. Liaise with and assist external accountants and auditors in preparation of year-end financial reports.Respond to accounts related enquiries, phone calls, and correspondence from external bodies, (e.g. partners, affiliates, suppliers, contractors etc.) promptly and professionally at all times. Ad hoc reporting, accounting and other duties as assigned by management.Qualifications & experience: A Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related field. Fully conversant with XERO Professional Accounting packageProficient in Excel and other Microsoft Office Suite productivity tools.High attention to detail, and accuracy - maintaining integrity of accounting records.Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication (written and spoken) and interpersonal skillsPrevious banking and financial services industry experience is preferred.Please note you must have current Australian working rights to be considered for this position.
