What You Will Be DoingThe Assistant Accountant is responsible for providing support to the national accounting team, including but not limited to month end journals, variance analysis, balance sheet reconciliation, as well as back up for AASB16 accounting.
This role will also work closely with our external property maintenance partner and business stakeholders for weekly energy payment reconciliations.
Your key responsibilities will include:Key liaison between JLL, BID and the Pathology businessReview Weekly Actual posting files as provided by JLL and advise where follow up needs to occurReview Weekly BID direct contacts and payment file, liaise with BU stakeholders and AP team to ensure timely approval and paymentReview MTD Actual files as provided by JLL – liaise with BU stakeholders to test the validity of the data; and work with the accounting team to ensure journal posted.Monthly catch-up meeting with JLL to provide feedback and follow up on issues identified during month end process.Support financial accounting team with month end activities, include but are not limited to:Processing of accruals, prepayments, and subsequent journalsProvide commentary on other property expensesReporting and analysis including investigation and analysis of result variancesFollow-up of reconciling items to ensure timely clearanceAssist with Balance Sheet reconciliationsAssist with tax required documentationParticipate in related systems, process or internal change initiatives and process improvementsReview financial processes and identify improvements in their efficiency and effectivenessBuild effective working relationships with BU stakeholders and JLL staff – both Finance and non-FinanceWhat Type of Person Will Be SuccessfulThese are the type of attributes & skills you would possess:
