Our client is a leading Australian energy provider, regularly awarded for its commitment to customer service. They offer reliable and affordable energy options, with a focus on clean and renewable sources. The role will be based in their incredible offices, located in a state-of-the-art building in the heart of Cremorne, featuring a collaborative, open-plan layout. Their high performing finance team is looking for an enthusiastic and curious Assistant Accountant to provide valuable support to the team and the business.
Job Description
The successful candidate will report to the Senior Management Accountant and be responsible for the following:
Preparation of regular and timely balance sheet reconciliations to a high degree of accuracy and reliability, including accounting for movements in key assets and liabilities Delivery of timely and accurate invoicing and receipting to external parties Contribution to the delivery of accurate monthly financial reporting Work in tandem with business stakeholders to support a smooth Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable experience Supporting achievement of the Finance team's objectives through contribution to business analytics, governance and audit, documentation and other related financial activities Deliver direct and indirect taxation matters in coordination with the wider group The Successful Applicant
The successful candidate will have a positive, can-do attitude with a drive to learn and develop. It is vital you are a team player and can bring a customer centric focus to the role every day. Other key criteria include:
A relevant tertiary qualification (Accounting, Finance, Commerce) At least one year of experience in a similar accounting role Actively pursuing or intending to pursue a CA or CPA qualification Excellent attention to detail Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability Ability to work within tight timeframes What's on Offer
