As an ASD EL2 Project Director, you will be responsible for leading an integrated team and managing all planning, governance, risk, and reporting aspects of the Capability Life Cycle. This will entail:Implementing programme management practices to support iterative/agile working.Conceiving, maintaining, and communicating a vision of the programme's outcomes and associated benefits.Agreeing on business requirements, and translating those requirements into operational plans.Determining, monitoring, and reviewing programme scope, costs, schedule, and expected benefits.Scheduling programme resources, inter-dependencies, and programme risk.Managing interdependencies in support of specific business strategies and objectives.Maintaining a strategic view over the set of projects.Providing the framework for implementing business initiatives or large-scale change.Accountable for leading a team, managing allocated resources, setting work area priorities, managing workflows, developing strategies, and evaluating business outcomes.Providing clear direction to ensure that there is a business perspective on how the new technical capabilities will be delivered to the business including planning around key business cycles and selecting appropriate customers for migration.Accountable for the development of business implementation and change management plans that include all activities the business needs to do in preparation for new technical components and technologies.Understanding and using experience to navigate organisational context to deliver agreed project outputs.Maintaining knowledge of ICT project management tools to prepare project plans including but not limited to, risk management, quality, financial, procurement, acquisition strategy, resourcing, project briefs, project management plans, and post-implementation reviews.Negotiating with stakeholders and team members using communication styles suitable for different audiences and purposes.Building and sustaining relationships with a network of key people internally and externally.Evaluating project and program performance to understand and anticipate critical factors for success and recommending changes where necessary.Prioritising competing deadlines and managing uncertainty to deliver on agreed ICT project outputs within timeframes and budget.About our Team
ASD's Technology Development & Integration Branch role is to provide through-life capability management of specified capabilities within ASD's Enterprise Technology Division to enable intelligence outcomes for Defence (including ADF), the National Intelligence Community (NIC), Government, and international partners.We drive Project Management maturity improvements and the Branch is comprised of members of diverse skills and disciplines who work together to deliver positive capability development outcomes for all of our stakeholders. Through these stakeholders, including Air Force, Army, Navy, and other Defence Groups, we deliver complex projects/programs, some of which enable the ADF Warfighter to stay ahead of technical advancements in the region.Within the Programme/Project Management function, an ASD EL2 Project Director will work in the Branch with considerable independence and is accountable to perform and achieve complex programme/project management work within an integrated workforce.
