An ASD EL1 Executive Officer is accountable under broad direction to perform and achieve complex administrative support work within an integrated workforce. They are accountable to ensure they have knowledge of and compliance with legislative frameworks, government decision-making and the Australian Signals Directorate's mission and policy requirements.
You will be in charge of managing and leading a small executive team, providing clear and consistent communication, managing performance, delegating responsibility, guiding, and developing people.
As an ASD EL1 Executive Officer, you will have a considerable level of stakeholder engagement and will liaise with stakeholders in relation to complex issues. They will be required to identify, anticipate and respond to stakeholders' needs and expectations to achieve work unit and Australian Signals Directorate outcomes.
Key duties and responsibilities include:
Managing allocated resources, setting work area priorities, managing workflows, developing strategies. Perform complex to very complex procedural, operational, administrative and business management activities that support the delivery of outcomes for the Executive office and for the Australian Signals Directorate more broadly. Translate and apply the administrative, operational, technical and resources requirements of an activity and manage the delivery of outcomes and reporting of that activity. Manage workflow and resources, prepare work area and team plans detailing measurable milestones and expected outcomes. Setting work area priorities, managing workflows, developing strategies and evaluating business outcomes. Demonstrate and apply the skills, knowledge and experience necessary to provide advice and services for a range of complex to very complex activities. Work collaboratively, build and sustain effective relationships, motivate and provide constructive feedback to the team and work area. Select the most appropriate course of action to progress work to meet business objectives. Assess and evaluate administrative, business, corporate and policy initiatives, identify issues and implement appropriate procedures and work practices. Plan and manage the administrative, project and business support activities for the Executive office and other works areas, identify risks and determine appropriate course of action to meet stakeholder needs. As the ideal candidate, you will:
Require in-depth knowledge of, or have the ability to attain this knowledge, to comply with legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Australian Signals Directorate's mission and policy requirements. Exercise a considerable degree of independence and perform a leadership role. Have sound decision-making and judgement to provide expert policy advice. Have in-depth knowledge of the administration function and be responsible for the development, implementation, compliance and review of policies and procedures relevant to their work in the Executive office. Manage detailed and sensitive projects that affect strategic, political or operational outcomes for the Australian Signals Directorate. Actively manage key stakeholder relationships and be required to identify relevant stakeholders' expectations and concerns to develop and communicate methodologies and practices to achieve outcomes.
