About the role Ascot Group is seeking an experienced Executive General Manager - People & Safety to join our dynamic and fast-paced North Melbourne-based team. In this full-time, permanent role, you will lead the strategic direction and oversight of people, culture, and workplace safety across the organisation. Reporting directly to the CEO, this is a critical leadership position that will play a pivotal role in driving the continued success of our growing business.

We are seeking an experienced executive to join our team and lead the company to its next growth phase over the next 3-5 years, aligning with our vision.
What you'll be doing Develop and execute the people management and workplace safety strategies to support Ascot Group's ambitious growth objectives. Drive our ESG strategy across the Company and customer base. Provide expert guidance and leadership on all people-related matters, including learning and development, performance management, employee engagement, and talent management. Oversee the implementation of effective workplace health and safety policies, procedures, and initiatives to ensure the wellbeing and safety of our people. Partner with senior leaders to identify and address any people or safety-related risks or challenges. Build and lead a high-performing People & Safety team, fostering a positive, collaborative, and inclusive culture. Represent the People & Safety function on the Executive Leadership Team, contributing to strategic decision-making. Ensure the company's people and safety practices remain compliant with all relevant legislation and regulations. What we're looking for Significant (8+ years) experience in a senior people management leadership role, ideally within a fast-paced, high-growth environment. Proven track record of developing and implementing successful people and safety strategies that drive business performance. Exceptional leadership and people management skills, with the ability to build and motivate high-performing teams. Strong commercial acumen and strategic thinking, with the ability to translate business objectives into practical people and safety initiatives. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to influence at all levels of the organisation. Comprehensive understanding of employment legislation, workplace health and safety requirements, and best practices. Qualification in Human Resources or a related Business field preferred, but not essential. What we offer
