Why your role matters: The Human Resources Business Partner will support the Head of Human Resources with the operational delivery of HR services and support to staff. The Human Resources Business Partner will oversee HR administration and systems, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and effectiveness, as well as coordinating recruitment activities across the School, staff movements, employee relations and reporting and compliance activities.
What you have to do to succeed: Actively build relationships with key stakeholders in the School including all Senior Leadership Team members and Heads of Departments. Partner with Stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of all aspects of the Employment Lifecycle. Provide efficient and effective recruitment Service (including but not limited to, advertising, screening, interview management, pre-employment checks and correspondence with candidates) in accordance with Ascham's Recruitment and Selection Policy. Proactively identify gaps and opportunities for future recruitment. Coordinate onboarding and offboarding processes. Manage, maintain and implement HR systems and processes. Manage leave process for maternity leave and Long Service Leave. Prepare accurate employee contracts and correspondence for all staff movements in a timely manner. Liaise with Payroll to ensure all employment changes are processed in time for the fortnightly pay run. Be the first point of contact for HR queries. Manage and coordinate casual employment processes. Ensure working with children check clearances for employees and volunteers are completed, verified, and recorded to comply with policies and legislation. Ensure all staff have the requisite qualifications and registrations for their roles. Manage and maintain employee records for current and past employees to ensure accurate reporting can be achieved. Lead new staff inductions, ensuring compliance with School policies. Onboarding of new staff including profile set up in Synergetic. Preparation and completion of all reports as required by state and federal government agencies, the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA), and Ascham's Council of Governors and Senior Leadership Team for review by the Head of Human Resources, including the annual Workplace Gender Equality Agency report. Remuneration Benchmarking with similar service providers to our organisation to support Budget process. Coordinate the practicum placements for student teachers. Use professional judgement to solve problems or escalate issues when there are no clear methods or procedures in place for doing so. Clear understanding of the relevant Industrial Instruments and FairWork Act. Clear understanding of Employee and Industrial Relations having worked with complex industrial agreements and awards. Assist with ER/IR issues by delivering consultation, management and advice to stakeholders, and assisting with investigations, mediations and other formal employee relations processes. Manage all end of year processes. Manage and update all employment files. Deliver specific objectives as agreed with the Head of Human Resources to achieve the values, goals and strategies of the School. Assist the Head of Human Resources with various HR projects (e.g. HR technology projects, policy updates). Ensure compliance with the School's Code of Conduct and all other internal policies and procedures. Other duties as required by the School. What do you need to succeed? Tertiary Qualification in Human Resources. Business Partnering Experience having worked across all aspects of the employment lifecycle. Highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships and communicate with a diverse range of people. Well-developed written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently, prioritise and meet deadlines. Excellent organisation and planning skills. High attention to detail. Strong coaching, mentoring and change management skills. Advanced skills in the use of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook). A valid Working with Children clearance. Experience working in the education sector desirable.
