Location ProfileMelton Specialist School provides educational programs for students with disabilities in a positive, caring, and safe environment.
It is a dual mode setting catering for students with mild through to severe intellectual disabilities and other associated disabilities like Autism.
Our school environment comprises traditional classrooms, specialist and vocational training classrooms, therapy spaces, and indoor sensory areas.

Selection CriteriaSC1 Demonstrated high level of knowledge of the relevant curriculum, including the ability to incorporate the teaching of literacy and numeracy skills.

SC3 Demonstrated high level of ability to monitor and assess student learning.
SC4 Demonstrated high level of interpersonal and communication skills.

RoleThe primary focus of the classroom teacher is on the planning, preparation, and teaching of programs to achieve specific student outcomes.
Classroom teachers may be required to undertake other duties in addition to their rostered teaching duties.
ResponsibilitiesDirect teaching of groups of students and individual students.Contributing to the development, implementation, and evaluation of a curriculum area.Participating in activities such as parent/teacher meetings and staff meetings.Undertaking other non-teaching supervisory duties.Who May ApplyTeachers currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching and qualified to teach in the curriculum area(s) specified for the position.
