Your Opportunity In this pivotal leadership role, you'll drive operational excellence, manage contracts, and strategically plan workforce and financial resources across all services based in the Greater Darwin region. You'll inspire and develop frontline service delivery managers, empowering them to reach their full potential. As the face of Mission Australia, you'll forge impactful relationships with government agencies, funding bodies, corporate partners, service providers, community groups, and service users, building a strong presence and driving meaningful change.
Lead the contract delivery and operational performance across Darwin services, ensuring compliance and high-quality outcomes.Collaborate with internal stakeholders and support services to ensure efficient, compliant service delivery.Support the Regional Leader in contract negotiations by providing insights on resource capacity and service capabilities.Oversee the preparation, monitoring, and reporting of operational budgets to internal and external stakeholders.Monitor service performance against targets, develop action plans for improvement, and celebrate successes.Contribute to the development and implementation of local service strategies aligned with national objectives.Identify opportunities for growth within the Greater Darwin region, aligned with the existing portfolio and national strategies.Demonstrate values-based leadership and promote values-based behaviours throughout service delivery.Manage workforce planning, recruitment, and succession planning in collaboration with HR, ensuring alignment with Mission Australia's policies.Support Program Managers in addressing staff grievances and oversee disciplinary and performance improvement processes.Provide feedback to the Regional Leader on strategic implementation, identifying risks and opportunities.Build and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including government bodies, funders, and community groups.Collaborate with the Practice Quality Team to drive continuous service improvement across the region.Requirements for Success Tertiary qualification in community services, leadership, and/or management.Demonstrated strong ability/experience in management, leadership, and professional development of teams.Display knowledge of current trends and issues in the Community Services sector.Extensive experience in people management and fostering professional development.Proven experience leading teams across diverse service offerings within a specific geographic region.Experience and/or knowledge of issues surrounding homelessness including alcohol and other drugs, family and domestic violence, unemployment, and mental health.Strong experience in managing stakeholder relationships, including government and funders, showing exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.Solutions-focused problem-solving skills.Strong strategic financial acumen and experience in managing multiple budgets.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a history of effective collaboration.In-depth knowledge of Aboriginal cultural systems and protocols.A demonstrated commitment to community and social outcomes, with personal alignment to Mission Australia's values and culture.Valid NT Driver's License.We strongly encourage people who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander to apply.
