Job Title: Area Director – Australia & New Zealand
Reports to: Vice President, Area – Asia, Middle East & Africa
Location: Sydney or Melbourne

Role overview:
The Area Director is responsible for managing all in-country operations within Australia and New Zealand. This role encompasses commercial operations, marketing activities, partner management, health care financing, policy, and political engagement. The Area Director will work closely with key functions including Medical Affairs, Legal & Compliance, Finance, Regulatory Affairs, and Human Resources.

What You'll Do: Develop and maintain professional relationships with Health Authorities, reimbursement bodies, physicians, pharmacists, and scientific associates in Australia and New Zealand.Monitor and respond to changes in health policy to protect and grow the business.Oversee marketing and promotional activities for all products, ensuring compliance with local regulations and corporate policies.Manage and develop local marketing or distribution partners, as applicable.Lead market development for ANZ.Establish pricing strategies, manage budgets, and oversee in-country expenditures.Collaborate with other Area Directors and central functions globally.Full financial responsibility for country operations, including revenue, expenses, and headcount. What We're Looking For: BS/BA degree in business or life sciences, MBA or other post graduate qualifications.Management experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with a strong background in operations.Marketing and sales experience with a proven record of advancing responsibilities.In-depth knowledge of local reimbursement and pricing policies is an asset.Strong understanding of the healthcare system in Australia and New Zealand.Proven ability to develop and execute business plans.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt to rapidly changing priorities.Excellent leadership, communication, and team collaboration skills.Willingness to travel as required.
