DUTIESThe Aquaculture Attendant serves as a support to the Team Leader, assuming responsibility for supervising and directing the team as necessary at their designated bay.
They are tasked with efficiently leading various farming duties, including shed and lease operations, oyster husbandry, and also contributing to daily tasks, data entry, and understanding the lease layout.
This role requires someone dynamic and physically capable, adept at working collaboratively with colleagues and demonstrating confident leadership.
We seek a motivated individual with a "Can Do" attitude to fulfill this position.
Daily responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Vessel pre-start and preparationCoordination of loading and launching of vesselWater tasks ensuring team is adhering to quality standards set by Team LeaderConstant communication between Team Leader and crew in the water to foster safety and efficiencyCoordinate vessel unloading and chiller organizationSupport Team Leader with paperwork and vessel operation when requiredStock deployment and harvestOyster farming, including animal husbandry and lease maintenanceOperate oyster farm machinery and equipmentGeneral vessel and equipment maintenanceOperations of equipment (forklifts, grading equipment)• Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices
• Interest or previous experience related to the aquaculture industry
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with fellow team members
• Have a valid Driver's Licence
LOCATIONSAngel Seafood runs multi-bay operations across the Eyre Peninsula.
Our site in Cowell is home for our spat nursery and year-old juvenile stock before they are shipped out to our grow-out site at Haslam (near Streaky Bay), or onto Coffin Bay, our finishing site.
This position is to work on site in Cowell.
REMUNERATIONJob Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 – $70,000.00 per year
