An APS Level 5 IT Production Support Officer specialises in identifying, assessing and managing risks related to Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) production support. They assess the system stability and ensure the data in EDW are maintained and defects are rectified in a timely manner.

The IT Production Support Officer uses analysis and design techniques to solve business problems using information technology. They serve as change agents who identify the organisational improvements needed, design systems to implement those changes, and train and motivate others to use the systems.

They may require familiarity with a variety of programming languages, operating systems, and computer hardware platforms. Responsibilities include developing cost analysis, design considerations, staff impact amelioration, and implementation timelines, as well as understanding and applying various methodologies. They may be confined to an assigned or given system and will be the conduit between business and external contacts, adapting their communication style to accommodate different audiences.
