The Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA) is committed to working across Government to ensure veterans are supported to age well.
DVA is improving support for the veteran community accessing aged care services by standing up an Aged and Community Care Taskforce (ACCT) , to focus on: The Residential Aged Care (RAC)
section sits within the Aged and Community Care Taskforce.
The RAC section is responsible for delivering a range of initiatives and projects which aim to streamline, simplify and improve the DVA client experience when transitioning into, and living in, residential aged care.
Working closely with internal and external stakeholders including the aged care sector and government partners, the RAC team is co-designing information products and services specific to DVA clients interacting with the aged care sector.
These initiatives will boost DVA's capability to assist and support veterans and families facing the transition into aged care and navigating that complex eco-system.

Where a non-ongoing position is offered, the role will be filled for an initial specified term of up to 23 months.
A merit pool of suitable applicants may be created which may be used to fill future ongoing and non-ongoing vacancies should they become available over the next 18 months.
Successful applicants engaged into the APS will be subject to a probation period.
