About this opportunity
The NACC has a Senior Advisor Governance role available for immediate filling in either, Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne or Sydney.
A merit list will be established to fill vacancies arising in the next 18 months.
About the role
The Senior Adviser Governance reports to the Assistant Director Governance.
This position is part of a small team led by the Director Governance within the Office of the CEO.
The Governance team is responsible for providing support, advice and management of a range of internal and external governance activities including strategic planning and performance reporting, parliamentary and ministerial engagement, internal audit and assurance, legislative compliance, and secretariat functions.
This position will suit someone with strong administrative and collaborative skills to coordinate across the agency and with the senior executive team.
Ideally, you will be someone who is organised, flexible and responsive, has excellent attention to detail, and an ability to work within a small agency environment.
Key activities Coordinating the Commission's appearance before parliamentary committees, including senate estimates and the Parliamentary Joint Committee on the NACC, and responses to Questions on Notice.Managing the administration of the Commission's Parliamentary Document Management System (PDMS) tenant and implementing appropriate workflows.Assisting with the development and maintenance of governance policies, procedures and guidance documents, and monitoring legislative compliance across the agency.Undertaking quality assurance processes on a range of internal and external documents and providing high-level administrative support.Supporting the management and coordination of the Commission's internal audit function.Provision of high-level secretariat support for governance committees including management of forward work plans, coordination of agenda items, and taking and preparing minutes.Assisting with the preparation and delivery of key strategic planning and reporting documents, including business planning, the corporate plan and the annual report.Contributing to the education of staff in understanding their accountability obligations and reporting requirements.The NACC is a small agency.
In addition to these activities, from time to time you may be asked to undertake tasks that are outside your usual span of duties but that are within the range of your capabilities.

Eligibility
Employment with the NACC is subject to the following conditions:
Citizenship – applicants must be an Australian Citizen.Security clearance – this is a Designated Security Assessment Position.
The occupant of this position will be required to undergo and maintain a security clearance to Negative Vetting 1.Suitability assessment - the NACC must be satisfied that successful applicants are of suitable character.
