HOBAN Recruitment is seeking a dedicated APS6 level Project Officer for a Federal Government client in DEAKIN Canberra .
In this influential role, you will support the Property Strategy and Capital Works Section, overseeing complex, strategic projects in line with legislative, policy, and procedural requirements.
The role requires strong project management, team leadership, and operational insight to deliver high-quality outcomes for the agency.
Key Responsibilities: Develop and manage project schedules in alignment with project management frameworks.
Provide technical expertise and advice on complex issues to staff and stakeholders.
Conduct research and prepare reports on project activities and performance.
Manage project reporting, including status updates, exception reports, and budget tracking.
Draft business cases, plans, executive briefs, and corporate documentation.
Monitor budgets, expenditures, and assist in procurement and contract management.
Identify and manage project risks, issues, and benefits.
Contribute to project quality management, ensuring deliverables meet client needs.

About You: Proven experience in a capital projects environment.
Knowledge of Australian Government Procurement Guidelines.
Ability to interpret planning and design documentation.
Experienced in managing both internal and external relationships.
Desirable: Familiarity with construction processes, fit-out, and industry-specific terminology.
