Junior Project Manager / Project Support Officer (non-ICT)Competitive hourly rate 12-month contract + extensions to 2029 Limited hybrid work arrangements Weekly pay | Labour hire Canberra based and working within the Parliamentary Triangle Australian Citizen | NV1 Security Clearance About the role:We are seeking a suitably experienced and qualified Junior Project Manager/ Project Support Officer for our Federal Government client on a 12-month assignment with extensions through to 2029.
An NV1 Security Clearance is required, and the hourly rate will be determined based on candidate expectation and their suitability for the role.
Our client has identified that this position is ideally suited to someone who wants to further develop their complex Program and Project Management skills.
Someone with the eagerness to learn and develop complex project management skills with a strong focus on procurement, grants administration and stakeholder management will be an ideal candidate for this role.
Formal project management qualifications are desirable but not essential.
However, someone with understanding of the non-ICT project management life-cycle, scheduling and budgeting will be strongly preferred.
The selected candidate will be working in a team of APS staff members and contractors and under the direct supervision of the Program Lead.
Someone with strong ability and an interest in learning how to design and implement complex projects working with multiple stakeholders across the Commonwealth and foreign countries and with a 'can do' attitude will be successful in this role.
Key responsibilities:The Project Support Officer/ Junior Project Manager will take responsibilities for end-to-end project management, contract establishment, contract management, monitoring of project progress and reporting in relation to multiple projects.
More specifically, the successful applicant will:
Assist in the project initiation, design, implementation, and closure in collaboration with relevant internal and external stakeholders.Work on procurement plan and all necessary procurement documentations in compliance with the Department's procurement policy and the Commonwealth Procurement Rules.Assist the Program Lead and Project Manager in managing, monitoring, and reporting on project related trends and performance against plans, schedules, and budget.Work with the Department's enabling areas (finance, procurement and legal) to establish and manage contracts.Skills required:Understanding of project management life-cycleUnderstanding of the Commonwealth Procurement Rules and Commonwealth Grants Rules and PrinciplesStrong stakeholder management and interpersonal skillsAgile and flexible in adapting to the dynamics of the programTertiary qualification in any relevant field is desirableStrong command of Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Outlook) and MS Project.Application Requirements:Applicants must hold Australian citizenship.Must hold an NV1 Security ClearanceHow to applyIf this role is of interest to you, APPLY NOW, with your current resume in MS Word format.
