Our Federal Government Client is seeking 8 Java Developers (APS6 Level).
This is a long-term non-ongoing role with an initial duration of 12 months with extension options, located at our client's offices in Canberra, Perth, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, Melbourne, or Hobart. As the selected candidate, you will: Collaborate with project teams to transition new systems into Census Operations.Research and analyze trends to prepare project briefs supporting informed decision-making and planning.Design, develop, test, deploy, and operate business application solutions that meet functional and non-functional needs.Apply best practices for the application's technology stack, architecture, and divisional delivery methods.Assist the team lead in developing strategy and roadmaps for solutions.Liaise with clients and stakeholders to understand business requirements.Monitor and resolve production incidents, adhering to IT service management best practices.Work with partners and vendors to address critical issues and leverage their expertise for informed decisions.Provide technical coaching, mentoring, and support to team members.Identify and implement opportunities to improve operational health, including availability, performance, security, and efficiency.Actively participate in team ceremonies and continuous improvement initiatives.To be successful in this role, you should have: Software engineering or enterprise application integration experience, supported by relevant ICT qualifications.Strong client liaison, communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.The ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.Proven expertise in analyzing requirements, building functionality, and delivering robust design solutions.A passion for developing high-quality code with attention to detail.Experience in analyzing and resolving complex business and system-related issues.It is desirable if you have: Java development experience, including JBoss and REST services.Experience in .NET C# development.Experience developing in AWS or similar cloud services.HCL Notes development skills.Database development experience with SQL and PL/SQL.CI/CD experience with tools such as Octopus Deploy, Jenkins, or GitLab.Proficiency in JavaScript, jQuery, and HTML.A strong understanding of WCAG and the Digital Service Standards.Due to security clearance requirements for this role, candidates must be Australian citizens.
