The Murray-Darling Basin Authority (MDBA) is an independent government agency which, in partnership with Basin governments, manages the Murray–Darling Basin's water resources in the national interest. With the enactment of the Water Act 2007, the MDBA was established as an independent expertise-based statutory agency.
The MDBA aims to achieve a healthy working Basin for the benefit of all Australians. The Murray–Darling Basin contains a rich diversity of natural environments that are unique in Australia and the world. The Basin is also crucial to Australia's economy and home to 2.3 million Australians, including people from over 40 First Nations. How we manage the Basin as a whole connected system, manage our water carefully, and protect it for future generations is set out in the Murray-Darling Basin Plan .
The Position
The IRMU Program Officer will contribute to the overall IRMU Program team, and assist the Program leads to provide accurate, consistent and timely procurement and assurance advice and support.
This role will contribute to the broader role of Program, portfolio, planning and Product management Stream to assist the General Manager in meeting their obligations under the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013 (PGPA Act), and the Commonwealth's broader financial framework for the efficient, effective, economical and ethical use of Commonwealth resources.
The role works closely with other parts of the Basin Science and Knowledge Portfolio and the Murray-Darling Basin Authority, other agencies of the Australian Government, the Basin States and Territories and wider stakeholders.
Your key responsibilities in this role are to
Be adaptable to undertake governance, procurement, assurance, contract management, or PMO related activities, depending on need and work allocation. Act as a point of contact for program related enquiries relating to the IRMU Program as they pertain to your role Manage and maintain IRMU shared email inboxes Build and maintain strong positive working relationships with MDBA staff Administer and maintain the IRMU Program procurement and contract activities Manage and maintain documentation in relation to procurement contracts, approvals, governance activities, PMO and/or decision making Manage and coordinate assurance activities as they relate to the IRMU Programs obligations for Government Contribute to the delivery of the IRMU Program including stakeholder engagement, development of reports, reviews, investigations, and monitoring Manage relationships with stakeholders and anticipating and responding to stakeholder needs and expectations Provide contract management support, advice and guidance on Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs), supplier evaluation, qualification and selection criteria Support connections between the MDBA and Basin Jurisdictions as it pertains to the delivery of the IRMU Program's key objectives Identify and implement continuous improvement strategies including the ongoing development and maintenance of systems, user templates, relevant guidance materials, training material, supporting tools and adequate reporting mechanisms Contribute to the MDBA Digital Strategy and promote a collaborative and positive workplace culture Ongoing $98,575 - $108,492 plus superannuation Canberra, Griffith, Goondiwindi, Mildura and Wodonga
