Salary: $91,702 - $104,753 + up to 15.4% SuperannuationLocation: Fairbairn - ACTThe RoleAs the Executive Officer (EO), you will work directly to the Director General Defence Force Recruiting (DGDFR) to ensure routine coordination and administration of Executive Meetings involving DGDFR and their attendance at internal and external committees.The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring timely and efficient administrative workflows to and from the Office of DGDFR, including task management and the coordination of Ministerial correspondence and media enquiries, as well as helping manage DGDFR's diary and appointments and a broad range of support activities.The role is responsible for the routine administrative support functions of the DFR Executive Team. It may also involve the drafting of routine correspondence for DGDFR approval and signature. As part of daily routine, the role will maintain DGDFR's appointment diary, conduct research tasks where required, and perform other duties as directed by DGDFR.About our TeamDefence Force Recruiting (DFR) is a public-private collaboration between Defence and a civilian company providing recruiting services to the Australian Defence Force in accordance with standards and policies set by the Navy, Army, and Air Force. Recruiting services are delivered using a mix of military, APS, and contractor staff operating in a high-energy, multi-vendor environment responsible for directly delivering capability to the Australian Defence Force.The DFR Executive Team provides support to DGDFR to ensure objectives are met. The office environment is often fast-paced and is characterised by competing priorities and tight timeframes. The DFR Executive Team is an area of trust and manages information with a high level of confidentiality and discretion. It is crucial that individuals are suitably skilled, professional, confidential, discreet, and have the ability to work well under pressure with strong communication skills.Our Ideal CandidateThe role is challenging and rewarding, offering a variety of opportunities for work and skills development, including Ministerial correspondence, media enquiries, providing advice on complex administrative issues, and Senior Defence Committee support.Our ideal candidate will be an experienced administrator who can resolve potential barriers to workflows, including providing direction, clarification, and context for requests, exercising foresight, and the ability to plan and creatively solve problems.Our ideal candidate will maintain a positive friendly outlook often under pressure, be comfortable working as part of a small team, and will be able to demonstrate the following skills and competencies:High level verbal and written communication skills.Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships.Superior organisational skills, with an ability to prioritise in an efficient and effective manner.Able to operate in a confidential and discreet manner.Proficient in a number of office software systems, such as Objective or Document and Records Management systems.
