APS 6 - Executive Assistant to the Executive Director Court Children's Service This Executive Assistant role will be part of the national team assisting the Executive Director Court Children's Service (CCS) in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of this important social science area of the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (FCFCOA). The role will work closely with the CCS Executive Officer, the CCS Directors, and the staff assisting other key Court executives including the Chief Executive Officer and Principal Registrar (CEO/PR) of the FCFCOA. The purpose of CCS is to provide social science expertise to assist parents, registrars and judges to make decisions that are in the best interests of children who are the subject of family law matters. The work of CCS is conducted by social workers, psychologists and other types of social science professionals. The Executive Assistant will provide high level administrative support to the Executive Director CCS, including scheduling meetings, managing calendars, preparing agendas and minutes, and tracking action items. In addition, the Executive Assistant will be responsible for a number of broader tasks such as managing a range of critical regulatory registers, overseeing a complex document framework and providing support with recruitment processes. The Executive Assistant will also be required to liaise with a range of internal and external stakeholders. Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will also have a strong eye for detail, a commitment to excellence, and will be someone who is highly motivated, well organised, efficient, able to work under pressure and possesses strong communication and interpersonal skills. Selection Criteria

High-level organisational and follow-through skills, including attention to detail, excellent time-management, the ability to set and manage priorities, multitask, work effectively under pressure and apply planning and problem-solving skills. Professional discretion, including tact and diplomacy, and an understanding of how to handle sensitive information with a high level of confidentiality and discretion. Strong oral and written communication and liaison skills; the ability to communicate professionally with people at all levels. The ability to work well in a high-paced environment, both as part of a team and individually. Well-developed interpersonal skills, sound judgment and the ability to develop and maintain productive working relationships with key staff and a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. Good IT proficiency, including high level skills in the use of Microsoft applications (e.g. Word, Excel). A demonstrated understanding and commitment to the application of the Australian Public Service (APS) Values, to abide by the APS Code of Conduct and the ability to comply with the principles of Workplace Diversity and Occupational Health and Safety.

Eligibility Employment with the Court is subject to the conditions prescribed in the Public Service Act 1999, and the following: Australian citizenship – the successful applicant must hold Australian citizenship; Security and character clearance – the successful applicant must satisfy a Police Records Check, and may also be required to complete security clearances during the course of their employment; Successful applicants engaged into the APS will be subject to a probation period.

This opportunity is for a period of 12 or 18 months with possible extension. And while this is a full-time position, part-time will be considered at a minimum of 3 days per week for the right candidate.
