Salary: $91,702 - $104,753 + 15% BDCP + up to 15.4% Superannuation

The RoleThis role involves the application of communications and ICT systems experience and technical knowledge to a range of activities that support integration and verification of systems within the Offshore Patrol Vessels (OPVs) under construction.In this role you will collaborate closely with other members of the OPV Engineering team and external Industry partners, with duties including:
Assessing communications and ICT system technical and design packages in accordance with applicable procedures, including scoping, planning, reviewing, determining recommendations, and contributing to the implementation of actions.Engaging with stakeholders, investigating communications and ICT systems concepts, delivering and managing specifications and resources.Applying engineering knowledge and experience to identify risks and uncertainties, leading to consideration of these in planning, decision-making and priority setting activities.Evaluating that communications and ICT systems meet applicable requirements and comply with legislative, policy and regulatory frameworks.There may be a requirement for domestic travel in this role.
About our TeamThe Offshore Patrol Vessels (OPV) Branch is delivering the Arafura class Patrol Boat to the Royal Australian Navy, under Project SEA1180 Phase 1.
The Arafura class is an exciting and challenging project with multiple ships in production across two Australian shipyards.
The primary role of the OPV will be to undertake constabulary missions, maritime patrol and response duties to operate alongside Australian Border Force vessels, and other Australian Defence Force units and regional partners.The OPV Branch is staffed by a combination of APS and contractor professionals across a wide range of disciplines.
The OPV Branch provides the liaison between the Navy Capability Manager and the activities within the shipyards, and conducts assurance activities to ensure that the contracted capability requirements are met.
The OPV Branch Engineering Team also provides analysis and advice about engineering changes that are being considered for the OPVs.
Our Ideal CandidateOur Ideal Candidate will possess the following:
A sound working knowledge of Systems Engineering concepts and practices.Previous experience with the integration of electronic systems into Naval platforms.Previous experience with the operation of maritime communications and ICT systems.Strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively and effectively with a wide range of Defence and external stakeholders of diverse professional backgrounds.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and attention to detail in all aspects of their work.Flexibility to respond to the changing context and shifting priorities of the Defence environment.A strong commitment to professional development and the desire to gain and apply new knowledge to workplace activities.Previous experience working within an Engineering Management system.#J-18808-Ljbffr
