Electrical Technician (Testing & Commissioning) - CAF Rail Australia - Canberra Trust in Motion. We are currently seeking an Electrical Technician (Testing & Commissioning), based in Canberra. To ensure the overall smooth and efficient preparation and execution of factory and dynamic tests of the modernized units of the Canberra tram in accordance with the validation procedures established by the project. This position is planning to start in February 2025 and last for at least a year.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Execute factory and track tests for the modernized units of the Canberra Light Rail in accordance with the validation procedures established by the project. Management of the incidents detected during these tests in collaboration with the rest of the departments involved in their analysis and resolution. Provide relevant information of tests and results. Carried out static and dynamic testing and commissioning activities on time according to the required Programme Plan, cost and quality. Inform relevant impacts on deadlines for Test & Commissioning activities, according to plan. Complete documentation for the correct execution of the tests. Support the coordination of activities and resources at destination (workshop access, resources, identify staff qualification needs, risk prevention activities) for the development of tests and delivery of vehicles. Ensure (feed, consult, apply) the use of the Lessons Learned Database (DB). Comply with the responsibilities assigned in the processes in general and ensure compliance in terms of quality, product safety, prevention of occupational and environmental risks. Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with all health and safety, quality and environmental legislative requirements. PROFILE
QUALIFICATIONS Possess a trade qualification in Electrical technical disciplines and/or workplace experience in relevant industries such as: Engineering, Automotive, Rail Construction, Manufacturing, Electrical/Electronics. MINIMUM EXPERIENCE Experience of at least two years, in industrial electrical maintenance activities. Recommended experience on railway maintenance, electrical area. Drawings interpretation. TECHNICAL COMPETENCES: Knowledge in measurement instrumentation, analysis and interpretation of physical data and diagnostic software is valued. Communication networks and protocols. Digital systems, electrical circuit design and programming. Mechanical and pneumatic systems. Management of databases both registration and information in the cloud. Knowledge of the 365-office environment and its applications. COMPETENCES: Skills for effective communication and leadership in multinational and culturally diverse environments. Team management fostering a culture of responsibility. Proactivity in the continuous search for improvement of resources and processes. Initiative, both for the effective resolution of problems and for daily management. Ability to manage changes in unforeseen situations.
