Be part of creating something new! The Change Management Office is a new section for our department, and we are seeking an experienced and inquisitive change officer to help us establish a fit-for-purpose and best-practice change management function. You will join a mixed team of communication and change professionals, who are passionate about supporting people through new projects and initiatives, and supporting them with the knowledge they need to adopt new changes.

As a new area, we have the exciting opportunity to define what change management looks like within our organisation. This role will play a pivotal role in supporting the development of the department's Change Management Framework and training packages to lay the foundations for successful change management practice in our organisation. 

As the APS6 Change Officer, some of your main responsibilities will include:
Supporting the development of a Change Management Framework  Supporting the development of change management tools and templates  Organising and supporting a change management community of practice  Working closely with the EL1 Change Manager to provide guidance and advice on best practice change management  Working with client areas to assess, plan for, and implement change initiatives Supporting the tracking of change impacts across projects Developing training materials to improve change management capability within the department  Supporting the delivery of training and best-practice sessions to our client areas to support their work.  Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a Change Officer with certification, training or qualifications in organisational change management or associated methodologies (examples include Prosci, Agile, Kotter's, etc), or with proven lived experience of change management delivery. We are seeking a proactive and strategic thinker who can form strong stakeholder relationships with a variety of different work areas. 

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate your ability to: 
Think strategically, evaluating information from a variety of sources to make connections and sound decisions while exercising good judgement. Apply change management theories in a practical context by supporting change management elements within a project or initiative to achieve positive results.  Communicate and explain change management methodology to a wide variety of audiences with differing levels of capability. Collaborate across diverse teams, valuing different perspectives, contributions and backgrounds.  Be inquisitive and proactive in understanding client needs, approaching work tasks, and supporting the broader section.  Be able to work effectively in a changing environment or in ambiguity.

What else can we offer? Eligibility requirements Employment with the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications and the Arts is subject to conditions prescribed within the Public Service Act 1999 including:
Citizenship: To be eligible for employment with the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications and the Arts applicants must be an Australian citizen. 
Health Assessment: The preferred applicant may be required to undergo a medical examination conducted by the department's preferred medical provider.
Security Clearance: The successful candidate must be able to obtain and/or maintain a security clearance at Baseline Level. You must be willing to disclose all relevant and required information. You must have lived in Australia, or have a checkable background, for at least the preceding five years for Baseline Vetting clearances. More information on the security clearance vetting process is available on the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA) website .
