We are actively engaged with a large federal government client seeking a APS5 Security Compliance Officer for a 12-month contract, with the possibility of extension. Please note that this position requires a minimum NV1 security clearance, with NV2 preferred. This is a security-designated role, and specified personnel must hold a current Australian Government Negative Vetting Level 1 Security Clearance prior to commencement.As a member of the Security Policy, Training, and Culture section, you will be responsible for implementing security compliance activities and applying policies and procedures that safeguard the organization from security risks and vulnerabilities in a global context.KEY DUTIESAs an APS5 Security Compliance Officer, your responsibilities will include:Coordinating and triaging compliance assessments and inquiries related to workforce security arrangements and outcomes.Managing a section mailbox and coordinating advice determinations and escalations.Performing various administrative duties to support security policies and procedures, including reporting and compliance activities.Contributing to the achievement of Section and Branch objectives.Supporting the Branch in delivering timely and consistent responses on policy compliance and security matters.Assisting with reporting for leadership on issues that may impact the Section or Branch.Developing an understanding of legislation, policy, and regulations that inform recommendations related to security issues.Nurturing relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Undertaking other related duties as assigned.OUR IDEAL CANDIDATEWe are looking for a team player who possesses:Strategic Thinking: Initiative and the ability to apply sound judgment in decision-making while working with minimal supervision.Excellent Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication abilities, with experience drafting correspondence and compliance reports.Relationship Management: Proven capability to build and maintain enduring relationships with key stakeholders to achieve operational and policy outcomes.Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze information from various sources to support the dissemination of security advice and outcomes.Integrity and Professionalism: Highest standards of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism, championing organizational values.Adaptability: Experience working in a fast-paced office environment.
