The RoleThis is an exciting opportunity to join a high profile team which shapes, devises and implements the Australian Geospatial-Intelligence Organisations (AGO) international agenda in support of the 2024 National Defence Strategy. These roles are aimed at candidates who are interested in international engagement, diplomacy and intelligence policy.As an Intelligence Diplomacy and International Partnerships Officer within AGO, you will work with stakeholders across Defence, the National Intelligence Community and the APS, as well as with key partner nations and overseas posts, to achieve AGO's international objectives.These roles require well-developed stakeholder engagement, problem solving, coordination and organisational skills. We are seeking highly motivated, enthusiastic and collaborative candidates to join our friendly, professional team.Main ResponsibilitiesCommunicate, consult, liaise and engage across AGO, Defence, the National Intelligence Community and with international partners to plan, coordinate and execute international visit programs.Support AGO's senior leadership to host high level dialogues and diplomatic events, including event logistics, secretariat support and hosting requirements.Contribute to briefing AGO senior leadership and decision makers on all elements of international engagement, including key objectives, opportunities and risks, as well as protocol and other sensitivities.Task and review briefing material from across the organisation, exercising judgement and triaging information to identify key factors that support decision making.Contribute to the development and drafting of strategic policy documents, including organisational strategies and ministerial briefing.Domestic and international official travel is available within these roles, but is not a requirement for successful candidates.About our TeamThe Australian Geospatial-Intelligence Organisation leads the Defence community in delivering geospatial-intelligence (comprising geospatial information and geospatial intelligence, collectively known as GEOINT) as well as hydrographic information.The Australian Geospatial-Intelligence Organisation has workforces in Canberra, Wollongong and Bendigo. GEOINT and hydrography are critical enablers for Defence operations and national activities such as Australian Defence Force operations and training, safety of navigation, whole of government intelligence and security activities, natural disaster responses and strategic policy development.Our people make a vital contribution to protect the lives and safety of Australians at home and overseas by providing GEOINT to decision-makers at all levels.
