Aps4 Claims Support Officers, Aps5 Delegates And Aps6 Team Leaders

Details of the offer

Salary Range: $70,630 - $110,982 + Attractive Superannuation Contact Officer: Padraig Judge - Looking for a gateway into a career with the Australian Public Service?
The Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA) is looking for Compensation Support Officers (CSOs), Delegates, and Team Leaders.
The current roles to be filled are in Brisbane, Townsville, and Broadbeach locations; however, this register may be used to fill other vacancies as they arise across Australia.
CSOs primarily start claims by conducting an open-door call with the client or representative to better understand what benefits they are seeking. CSOs will review the claim, determine if any further information is needed, and then request that information. CSOs will manage these claims until all the information has been returned and they can transfer the claim to a delegate to finalize.
CSOs may also deliver a range of divisional support functions by telephone and in writing. Other tasks may include triaging inquiries, correspondence management, and administrative support to various compensation-related programs.
The roles are high-paced and challenging but immensely rewarding as you see in real-time the positive impact you can have on a veteran's well-being.
The Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA) exists to meet the Nation's commitment to care for our veteran and defense service community—the men and women who have served Australia in times of war and conflict as well as peacetime. We do this through programs of care, compensation, commemoration, income support, and defense support services. Our aim is to ensure enhanced self-sufficiency, quality of life, financial well-being, and community recognition for those we support.
Processing Branch is a multi-disciplinary branch within DVA responsible for the management and assessment of compensation claims. Our clients are serving and former defense force members, veterans, and their families.
Initially, roles will be offered as a 12-month non-ongoing position with a very real opportunity for permanent recruitment. Many applicants who have started with us over the last year in a non-ongoing role are now permanent staff with the Department.
We intend to move quickly as we know organizations can draw out job application processes, but you will not be waiting long to hear from us.
If you feel you have the skills required for this position and an interest in developing a career with DVA and the APS, we encourage you to submit an application and reach out to our contact officer. Roles are available for start dates in September and October 2024.
Here's a taste of what's on offer: Inclusive parental leave policy that supports parents and carers An annual Healthy Lifestyle Subsidy to maintain and enhance your health and well-being Flexible work arrangements, such as working up to 3 days per week at home and compressed hours may be available after successfully completing initial training Career progression opportunities when available, as you upskill and hit key benchmarks We make hiring decisions based on your experience, skills, and passion, as well as how you can enhance our culture. DVA will provide reasonable adjustments for candidates to participate equitably in the recruitment process and discuss workplace adjustments to fulfill the inherent requirements of the role. When you apply, please tell us any reasonable adjustments you may need during the process.
Eligibility: Under section 22(8) of the Public Service Act 1999, employees must be Australian citizens to be employed in the Australian Public Service (APS). All applicants external to DVA offered employment will be required to successfully undergo a pre-engagement screening check, even if they have a security clearance. The screening check is conducted in accordance with the Australian Government Protective Security Policy Framework requirements. The successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a Baseline Vetting (AGSVA) security clearance. Please note, this register is an expression of interest only. Registering your interest does not guarantee an offer of employment will be made.
