The Claims Management Group is a key contributor to Comcare's strategic objective and purpose of delivering an effective, fully funded and sustainable workers' compensation scheme for the Australian Public Service. The Claims Management Group works with employers and employees to identify and target strategies that facilitate early and sustainable return to work or recovery at work.The Claims Administration and Income Support team performs financial services to support the claims business in the management of claims transactions. This includes calculation and transactional processing of accounts payable and weekly incapacity benefits.The team performs reconciliations of financial information across a variety of sources, identifies anomalies and addresses these within legislative and policy frameworks. The team develops and implements financial recovery programs where opportunities are identified including but not limited to overpayments and third-party recoveries.Overview of the RoleThe Claims Debt Recovery Officer works as part of the Payment and Recovery team, who are responsible for timely and accurate calculation and payment of incapacity benefits.The Claims Debt Recovery Officer will deliver, monitor and contribute to a range of functions related to debt recovery for income support, including actioning requests from claimants, investigating how the overpayment occurred, preparation of waivers and write off recommendations, and working with other areas of Comcare as required.The role supports the analyses, evaluation and integration with a variety of income support information and assesses the likelihood of impacts and outcomes.Eligibility and Specific Conditions of EmploymentCharacter clearance (Australian Criminal History Check).Employee Health Declaration.Six months probationary period for new engagements.Ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline Security Clearance.How to applyPlease review the Job Information Pack below and provide a statement of claims with your responses outlining what you could bring to this position including your skills, experience and knowledge relevant to the job specific capabilities and role (maximum 2 pages).
