Permanent full-time position based in Sydney Enjoy benefits such as study assistance and a healthy lifestyle subsidy Contribute to research, development, and maintaining ISO 17034 standards Our client, a federal government agency is looking to recruit an APS 4 Analytical Chemist and Quality Officer to maintain and improve quality systems in compliance with ISO 17034 standards. You will contribute to the analytical work of the laboratory, ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and consistency of our calibration standards across industries such as agrichemicals and anti-doping.
Your other responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
Operate and troubleshoot a variety of analytical instruments, including HPLC, GC-FID and Karl Fischer moisture analysis Perform data analysis and reporting, including updating certificates of analysis using Excel and Word. Maintain and improve quality systems consistent with ISO 17034, with tasks such as updating SOPs, method manuals, and preparing for external audits. Respond to quality non-conformances by managing investigations and implementing corrective actions. This role offers you the chance to apply your expertise in analytical chemistry while advancing the national measurement system that supports scientific, industrial, and legal functions across Australia.
To be considered for this role, you will be an Australian citizen and have the following skills and experience:
