Adult Community Occupational Therapist Position Adult NDIS / Community Occupational Therapist We are seeking an enthusiastic and caring occupational therapist to join our community team (full or part time). We work with a wide variety of clients and their families, as well as other allied health professionals and stakeholders. We support our clients at every stage of their life and are passionate about helping people to do the things they love. Our community team focuses on empowering our clients to achieve their own life goals, big or small, and strives to work with clients to bring joy into their everyday lives.
About the Role The community occupational therapists work alongside our passionate team consisting of paediatric, hands, aged support, neuro rehabilitation, and mental health clinicians and therapy assistants. We offer appointments in a variety of settings including the home, workplace, clinic, and school to help support our clients get the most from their day-to-day lives. In essence, we provide our services and support in the environment that suits the clients in the best way for them and encourage the use of intervention approaches that are flexible and tailored to each client's interests and needs. The available occupational therapist role will be working alongside our experienced community occupational therapists, guided by our senior team leaders. You will be provided direct face-to-face supervision and ongoing clinical support, including a generous professional development allowance. In addition to direct clinical intervention, your role will include one-on-one meetings, team case conferences, education, and upskilling to support your professional growth.
You will enjoy assisting clients with complex needs and have experience working with NDIS, DVA, community clients, and older adults. You will be motivated, energetic, dynamic, and looking for the next step in your OT career.
Duties: Support and empower our clients to experience progress, recovery, joy, and comfort. Provision of OT assessments and treatment services in home and community settings, including equipment prescription, home modification, daily living skills, functional and care needs assessments, and report writing. Work collaboratively with the wider Apricus Health team to provide holistic care and specialised services to clients. Ensure all clients receive an excellent experience at all stages of their client journey. Contribute specialised knowledge and skills relevant to education in-services and seminars, information sessions, articles, blogs, workshops, and any other knowledge sharing opportunities. Active contribution to service delivery; work with community team leaders to guide clinic planning and programs to ensure we are delivering a service to be proud of. Support and assist colleagues to meet professional development outcomes. Requirements: A qualification in Occupational Therapy as recognised by the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia (or from the country in which you trained). Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). First Aid, CPR training, and NDIS Workers Screening or eligibility to obtain. The ability to live and work in Australia long-term. Able to commit to a minimum 12-month contract.
